TR - 3 high country classics in a day

All the passion in that story reminds me of most of Inez's TR's...She has the ability to take an occasion and relate the tale it back as if we, the reader, had just spent that week or day with her...She has a lot of good friends because of her passion for people.

This is why you suffered the wrath of so many of the regulars here. If you were to step down and give us a chance, I'd be willing to bet that you'd become one of those regulars in no time. As it has been said before, there is a core of some pretty amazing people on this group. Not all of us are capable of doing what you accomplished in this excellent TR, but we still have that passion for climbing and for people, especially for those that make up that core group. You can get out of this group anything you want. If criticism is what you are looking for then by all means come in and start flaming away....there are a lot of us that have been getting quite practiced at the art of fire. But, by the same token if you want to laugh, tell outrageous tall tales, get quality information from some of the best climbers the world has to offer, well...O.K...so we can't give you everything, but then we always have a good time trying. Lighten up a little and give us all a chance and you'll be surprised at the reception you'll get from us. Granted, not everybody gets along, but then...with a group of 'A' type personalities this size, I'm surprised there ain't mail bombs and drive by's...

Ohhh, and if you can navigate the backwaters of Deja.news look up some of the TR's posted by Inez...(If you can't ask and I'll be glad to send you some...), I think that this would completely change your opinion of our Lord in Slime and the Illustrious lady Inez and even introduce you to some of the other personas that frequent these hallowed halls of fire...

I read the report, decided that I did not think much of people who go to the base of a super popular route and rather than spend their time more judisciously, instead choose to hang around only to yell insults:

I make my judgements of people on a per person basis. I've come to despise and pity this lord slime but that has no bearing on how I may feel about others in here. For example, you are apparently a friend of his but I certainly don't hold that against you.

This 'my bro right or wrong' concept is lost on me. If a friend of mine acted like that in my company I would surely tell him to knock it off and let's just go somewhere else and not let it ruin our whole day. At the very least I would feel ashamed to be in his presence and question his and my compatability as partners.

I did spend the shallow side of an hour last night peeking through the archives. It does seem that perhaps Inez's conduct at Fairview was somewhat out of character for her, perhaps it was the influence of her partners ludicrous personality taking it's toll. He however seems to have been perfectly aligned with his usual personality. I'm not really going to start in on this again, it doesn't matter all that much since he won't ever be my partner.

I have no doubt that one day his lip will flap to the wrong person and his hash will be summarily settled. It always happens eventually. However from reading some it looks like this abrasiveness is reserved for the safe locale of the computer screen, perhaps because he did once recieve some come-uppance for his attitude. This is evidenced by this snippet from a post that came early on in the Huge packs thread:

'Hey, it was great to see you on Fairview. And to confirm the disconnect between John's online and offline personalities'

Nobody has unquestioning support on here. Certainly not Lord Slime. We all know he's a great climber and we've heard that he's much nicer in person and so on and so on. Over the years however, many people, myself included, have taken him to task on being such an ass to anyone who's questions he doesn't like.

Despise and Pity are pretty harsh words to use. Would you say this sitting around a campfire in the Meadows? This forum oftentimes brings out words more inflammatory than we'd ever use in real life. All you've done here is raised the flamming bar - I didn't think you intended to play that game.

The 10c corner pitch takes as much gear as you want to put in. There are stances to place gear from the whole way up. Don't be intimidated by this route.
