Just found another post of a female climber describing a climbing experience with male hardcore climbers. in a paragraph that I felt was taken from my personal experience on various occasions Little Po describes how she coped with the hard parts saying she is scared but coping and climbing all the way.

I could really relate as I too have sometimes the need to say that I’m scared, or that something is really difficult for me and still I’m just expressing my feelings and not asking for help.

I’ve noticed that women feel the need to share their feeling while the men use their words to communicate concrete practical information.

Rock climbing is just another example for the different ways wen and women communicate. It took me a long time to realize that I’m not less of a climber than my friends because I express difficulty out loud.

Thank you for relating to my blog entry. It’s nice to talk to and get to know another female climber just because of the common sense! Just got out of the field from a 14-day course and it’s so nice to know you, Deborah!!

    Hi Little Po,
Check Sara’s blog as well - it is nice to connect with other climbers and sometimes the other gals out there can relate to one another
