I wonder if anyone will be around to climb to the summit to view this one.

3 May 2106: Totality comes ashore from Big Sur south to Santa Maria. Path moves NE with centerline over Mt. Whitney at 9:47AM. (3:29 of totality)

There are some earlier dates if you want to be on a state summit during a total eclipse

Borah Peak (Almost on the centerline - 2m15s totality) August 21, 2017 Gannett Peak Clingman's Dome (short totality - near the edge) Brasstown Bald Sassafras Mountain

April 8, 2024: Magazine Mountain Taum Sauk (short, on the edge of the totality) Hoosier HP (Best - 3:58 totality) Campbell Hill (good... near the center line) Mount Marcy Mount Mansfield Mount Katahdin (Almost best, near center line, 3:24)

And of course don't forget the partial solar eclipse covering most of North America on Chistmas Day!
