Hullo All, Was wondering if there is anyone that has any sort of information on the climbing at Little Falls in terms of the ratings of routes, or who made the first ascents. I don't know if there is a guidebook in existence or not, but I am planning on making an informative website for the little crag. Just about any little tidbit of information would be good, I have climbed there four or five times and figured I could help others find their way with a smattering of info in my corner of the web. Thanks, Tom M

There is (was?) a small guidebook available by Geoff Childs. Check shops with climbing gear in Syracuse or Albany. Also look for regulars ... there's a few folks who've been hanging out on Moss Island for a long time.

There are a fair number of routes, up to 90', but mostly much shorter, and mostly good for topropes.

Rock and Snow in New Paltz, NY used to carry it a few years back. They will do mail order (888-255-1311).

I bought a copy maybe 3 or 4 years ago, but they probably weren't a really popular item, so maybe they still have some. Some of the best rendered cliff drawings I've seen in ANY guidebook (pen-and-ink and obviously done by someone with some schooling in fine arts).

Good luck.

Alex

I use to have a copy of the guide that I bought a EMS Syracuse a few years back, but loaned it to a relation whom promptl loss it, arn't family fun ,.(. When I try to pick up another copy cept checking Rochester, Syracuse and Albany EMS but the had not had any in a few years. Finaily the manager at EMS Syracuse said that it was out of print and that a group from Jamestown had bought the rights and where spossed to republishing a revised copy IN A COUPLE OF YEARS, don't hold your breath. Problaly best to try Rock & Snow in New Paltz. If you find a source posted it on this group. The Adrondack climbing is a long way from Rochester. And Moss Island makes a good warm up on the way through.

Actually, I still have my guide, for all the good it's doing me in Phoenix. Get in touch with me and maybe we can arrange something.
