Looking back on a few trips I've taken, I realize that different people use different timeframes to pack/get ready to leave for a weekend trip. When my brother and I would leave on a trip, we would usually decide where we were going (checking weather reports) on Friday, a half-hour before we depart. We would then pack quietly, with most of our gear already prepared (stove, cookset in one stuff bag, climbing gear in a milk crate, etc) and almost NEVER forget anything. We would be ready to go within 30 minutes.
In contrast, I've seen people leave for a skiing trip and forget their gloves and hat. It takes them two hours to get everything together, and on the way you have to stop by the store to pick up those few things they needed to buy for the trip.
How ready are you to leave on a climbing/camping trip? Is your car packed now?
What's the longest time you've ever waited for someone to leave for a trip?
