Our latest reports confirm that no animals or young boys were involved this time.

It was actually a pumpkin that was involved. Decomposing pumpkin on a wet road has a coefficient of friction somewhere around zero.

But thanks anyway for your concern for the children and pets of our city.

Well, perhaps the pumpkin was remnant from a lantern from some poor kid that was around there *last* time, eh?

Y'all just don't know how happy it made me to see David respond here. Over the years, people come and people go in rec.climbing, and when a person like David bows out as he did a few years ago, we all lose. Dr. Offwidth was another loss as was Jeff Batten but I won't go as far as to say I miss Tony Bubb. I do miss Greg Opland, Chris Weaver and even think Bruce Hildenbrand was entertaining at times. And I wish Tradman was still writing TRs for us that evoke the spirit of SE climbing. I also miss the Brits like Charles Aurthur and Steve Gray and Aussies like Chris (last name just flew off the tip of my tongue...). And when is Bob Ternes going to get back with it? He and Coomer must be getting into way too much trouble.

I'm sure others of you miss former contributors. Please list them.

You might be too new to rec.climbing to know David Harris. He's one of the wittiest people to ever post here and he certainly has sufficient sense of humor to absorb my tease. I know for certain he loves kids and knows how to express that love in a parental manner. Ask Inez what she thinks of David and you'll get alligned.

Hey, you trolled and I counter-trolled. My blood pressure did not rise, but my eyebrows did.

No offense taken, sorta...
