Cryogenic treatment of metals is common in some sporting goods, (i.e. match grade gun barrels and custom knife blades.)

Claimed benefits of cryogenic treatment include greater tensile strength and abrasion resistance.

I'm curious if anyone out there has ever treated any climbing gear cryogenically.

I'm toying with the idea of sending some ice axe picks and crampon front points to get cryogenically treated, and wonder if there is anyone out there with experience with this.
