I've been in TX for a little over a year now. I've only found one spot that is half way close to me (an hour away), Mineral Wells. Does anyone know of any place else possibly a little more convenient near or in the metroplex

I live in the Bay Area but my parents live in the Dallas area. I have also climbed at mineral wells, the only other places that I have found were the gyms, two in the area. I usually go to stone works. Chris

Unless new rock has been sprouted in the last 2-3 years, nope. You're screwed. there's good stuff further than Mineral wells, but as for real rock, it's the closest. There are some glue ups around town, all very covert, and a pretty cool old railroad trestle in Richardson/Plano. (Illegal, and I was chased out of there once) So until you decide to move, it's toproping with the Boy Scouts and sport rappelers, or driving to Austin or the Wichita's.
Have fun,
