I'm thinking of going to Arizona over thanksgiving - what would the temperatures be like? Any recommendations as to places to go at this time of year? Also which airport (Phoenix, Tucson) would be better?

Tucson is a much smaller airport and is easy to get in and out of, but it does not have anywhere near the number of flights coming in to it. As for where to climb, in Tucson you have Mt. Lemmon with lots of granite sport and trad. Cochise Stronghold is only 1.5 hours away if you want longer routes and more adventure. Queen Creek, home of the Pheonix Bouldering Comp, is just over 2 hours away with tons of sport climbing and bouldering. There is also lots of climbing in the PHX and Flagstaff area, but I have no experience there.

If you end up in Tucson on the 22nd, Steph Davis will be doing a slide show on big walls in Pakistan at the Summit Hut (520-325-1554). Contact me if you want more info.
