Hey all,

I'll be going to the Czech Republic this summer to have a wedding ceremony for my wife-to-be's family and friends, so I thought we would do some sport climbing once there. I've done some research, and unfortunately all I have found is some pretty dicey sandstone areas with sandbagged ratings and 'no gear' ethics on the trad routes. Knotted rope balls and webbing is OK to use for pro, but frankly, I'm not interested in dying on my honeymoon. I know some of you globetrotters have gotten over the drink to climb, so what's a good place to go near Prague? We'll ask at the shops when we get there, of course.

Thanks.

You pretty much summed it up for Czech climbing. It's waaaay ballsy. We do buisness with Hudy Sports and any of the shops in Czech can give you good beta for the climbs. Most of the good climbing is North of Prague an hour or so. Log on to www.hudy.cz for contact info.

Thanks Malcom. Looks like we'll be toproping quite a bit if we stay in Czech. If only we were going to Spain....
